YOU ARE INVITED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE ANNUAL BIOMEDICAL SEMINAR

Each year, The Martinsville-Henry County Pre-College Initiative (PCI) Chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers hosts its Annual Biomedical Seminar engaging our students as well as bringing awareness of the many health diseases plaguing our community.

This event will take place on:

December 12, 2026 at 12 pm

in the Frith Building at Patrick & Henry Community College

The purpose of this competition is to bring about an awareness of the many health diseases that affect our community.

TEAM REQUIREMENTS

 4 diverse team members (race and gender)

 Grades 3rd- 12th represented

PROJECT CRITERIA*

 Selection of a medical condition (i.e. asthma, diabetes, obesity, etc.)

 Presentation Board for display

 15 minute PowerPoint Presentation must include:

 Definition of Condition

 Statistics/Demographics

 Risk Factors

 Effects of Condition

 Treatments

 Prevention

 List of References

 Summary
